Pets at Home has introduced a ready meal for dogs in response to customer demand for convenience foods for pets. The retailer said dogs increasingly travel with owners on days out, holidays and camping trips and said there was a need for food that could be provided on the go.

Peel & Feed is ready to serve and comes complete with a foil-sealed dog bowl with a sticky base to hold it steady. Pets at Home said the packaging was designed to resemble human ready meals. The packs have a retail price of 79p for 150g and £1.49 for 300g.

Pets at Home commercial director Catriona Marshall said: "As part of our continuous process of listening and responding to customer feedback, it became increasingly apparent that dog owners were frustrated that their pets didn’t have the same access to convenience food as they did."

Peel & Feed contains Adult Complete, Pets at Home’s own-brand pet food. The ready meal is available in three varieties: gravy with fresh beef, fresh chicken and a lower-calorie food in chicken flavour.
